For Ouest France, IFOP delivers its September 2025 political and regional barometer
A very low approval rating for Emmanuel Macron: 77% of French people do not approve of his actions, up 6 points since last August. This growing dissatisfaction is expressed especially among left-wing sympathizers: 85% among those close to France Insoumise (+20 points) and 83% among those from the Socialist Party (+10 points).
In the Grand-Ouest region, the President’s actions are also widely disapproved of (76%), with a sharp increase (+10 points compared to last June).
French people widely disapprove of François Bayrou’s actions
81% of French people disapprove of Prime Minister François Bayrou’s actions, up 8 points on June 2025, with 51% saying they don’t approve at all. “This is a record. Among people living in the Grand Ouest region, it’s 88%,” says Frederic Dabi.
As far as the Grand-Ouest region is concerned, the Prime Minister is widely disapproved of, with a very significant rise (+17 points compared to June 2025). The Prime Minister is considered to be incapable of reforming the country (82%) and far removed from everyday concerns (83%).
