Against a backdrop of governmental and social instability, following the social unrest of September 10th and 18th, Ifop, in partnership with the JDD, is exceptionally publishing the second wave of its September barometer on the popularity of the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic.nnEmmanuel Macron’s popularity fell by 2 points, from 19% to 17%. The Head of State thus reached a record unpopularity level since his election in May 2017. In detail, his popularity eroded especially among Renaissance sympathizers (-15 points).nnAs for the new Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, his popularity is rising in public opinion: 42% say they are satisfied with his action, up 4 points on last week. A rise in popularity that needs to be qualified, given that a large majority are “rather satisfied” (40%, +7 points) or “rather dissatisfied” (39%, +6 points). The clear-cut “very satisfied” or “very dissatisfied” opinions are very much in the minority, characteristic of an opinion that has not yet become polarized.
