When citizen participation becomes a driving force for improvement

Case study: Service
Need
A Swiss customer wanted to create a citizen community in Geneva, to encourage the active participation of residents in improving the services provided by Services Industriels de Genève (SIG).
Approach
An online platform was set up to encourage interaction, gather ideas and strengthen citizen collaboration.
Impact
This approach helped to stimulate citizen participation, innovate our service offering and strengthen the relations between SIG and the people of Geneva over the long term.
Giving a voice to the people of Geneva means awakening their power to act and their desire to build tomorrow’s energy and environmental transition together.

Local residents as agents of change
Thanks to this project, citizens were involved in a co-construction process. The customer was able to gather regular feedback on needs, expectations and perceptions, test pilot services and thus bolster trust between SIG and the inhabitants of the canton of Geneva.
