The Ifop popularity ratings for the Journal du Dimanche confirm a downward trend for President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister François Bayrou.

Emmanuel Macron has seen a sharp decline: only 19% of French people say they are satisfied with his performance as president, compared to 25% in May and 23% in June. This represents a drop of 4 points in one month. This is the lowest satisfaction level recorded since the start of his term in 2017.

The President of the Republic is losing ground among his 2022 electorate in particular, where the satisfaction rate has fallen to 49%, a drop of 12 points in one month. Satisfaction is now in the minority across all categories of the population.

François Bayrou has seen a further decline in popularity: 18% of French people say they are satisfied with his performance, down 2 points from the previous month. The level of dissatisfaction has reached 82%, a historic high, comparable only to that of Édith Cresson in July 1991.
