THE MAIN FINDINGS
The ecological and digital revolutions are issues clearly identified and invested in by employees as likely to profoundly transform their work in the years to come. Social upheavals, such as pension reform, coupled with the change in the relationship to work observed since the health crisis, are also likely to redefine their professional prospects.
In line with this paradigm shift, the association of career development with salary increase is less predominant this year, while the proportion of employees who have undergone career development in the last 3 years is still rising significantly, a sign of positive employment dynamics.
The proportion of employees wishing to progress professionally over the next two years has stabilized at its highest level (2 out of 3), while the reasons for doing so continue to be linked to increased remuneration, and to a lesser extent this year to the desire for new challenges or job security.
While the majority of French employees are still attached to their company and ideally wish to evolve within it, the career paths envisaged are increasingly disruptive, while employees’ demands on companies are growing.
To find out about career development, employees continue to turn to multiple sources of information, with a preference for « relational » sources. At the same time, their knowledge of career development assistance schemes has increased significantly again this year.
