In February 2025, Ifop carried out a survey on behalf of the Socialist Party on voting intentions for the Saint-Etienne municipal election. In the event of a list bringing together La France Insoumise, the Communist Party, the Ecologists, Place Publique and the Socialist Party in the first round of the election, almost one Stéphanois in four (39%) said they intended to vote for this left-wing union list. This would put it well ahead of the list led by Dino Cinieri and supported by Les Républicains (24%), as well as that supported by Rassemblement National (17%). The list led by Gaël Perdriau, the outgoing mayor, would garner a fifth of the vote (20%).

If La France insoumise were to have a separate list, led by Andrée Taurinya, the latter would obtain 13% of the vote, while a list supported by the Communist Party, the Ecologists, Place Publique and the Socialist Party, and led by Régis Juanico, would obtain almost a third of the votes (31%). The latter would therefore remain in the lead in the first round, ahead of the list supported by Les Républicains (22%), as well as the list supported by Rassemblement National and that of the outgoing mayor (both 17%).
