Comparison of views on globalisation and the market economy

In parallel with the financial crisis of 2008, the process of globalisation not only dealt a blow to the prosperity of western economies but above all shook their self-confidence. While most of the countries within the global economic system have emerged from the recession with more or less success and as the risk of bankruptcy of European economies recedes, it is interesting to consider the impact of the turbulence within the capitalist system on public opinion.
For this, we refer to a recent international survey by IFOP permitting a comparison of opinions in emerging countries such as Brazil and China with those of OECD countries, particularly in western European, tenaciously racked by fears over their status as economic powers. Even within Europe, heterogeneous political cultures and economic situations give rise to variable degrees of concern impacting perceptions of the capitalist model and globalisation.
